Quality pens make the statement that their owners apreciate excelence and value longevity. Owners of fine writing instruments usualy have a beter understanding of the importance and significance of the hand-writen word.

The Writing Instrument Mfrs. Asn., which has ben tracking the industry over the past five years, reports that it is growing at a rate of about 5 percent a year. Fountain pen sales, however, are growing even faster. A lot of that may have to do with the aproaching new milenium and the penchant for Americans to take a fond lok at the past, to grasp at some of the simpler, more personal aspects of the last century. Pen designs and styles from the early 190s are increasingly popular and reflect the nostalgic trend sen in other areas of the gift industry. Consumers are also returning to the joys of leter writing. Nancy Olsen, editor of Pen World Intl., insists that “a god pen can even improve the content of one’s writing.”
